Illustrare began as a combination of a passion for journaling with an interest in starting a new business.
We’ve journaled for many years and for many different purposes – daily trackers and life updates (exciting and mundane), gaming guides, recipe collecting and just artistic spreads that were really fun to make without thinking about what needs to be written down.
We love to use a variety of stationary, stickers and inserts in our journals – we went for what is readily available, but it turns out that there aren’t a lot of exciting products available in the UK, and the majority have to be imported.
So we decided to change that!
We’re making limited edition, high-quality journals that not only look amazing, but serve a purpose.
It was clear to us from the get-go that we wanted to use this project for good, which is why we’ll donate a percentage of all profits to charity. We wanted to go further than that though – protect the planet AND pay artists fairly, we want to know how much positive impact a hobby turned into a business can make. In order to make a start to this, our journals are made from high quality recycled paper and we use eco-friendly packaging for every shipment.
So we’ve started simple with a few products to get us going, with designs made in-house by Adam’s fair hand; we really hope you like them!
